WASA and AWSP invite you to register for the 2023 Summer Conference, taking place June 25-27 in Spokane. Registration for this year’s conference will open on Jan. 24, 2023. This year, WASA is the office of record and all registrations will be processed through their website.
Principals’ Winter Forum

Your voice is critical in helping us improve your role in education and support you through your career. AWSP's Winter Forum is your opportunity to connect regionally with other school leaders to share your experiences and to inform the work of your association. (AWSP!).
Virtual discussion rooms will be organized by grade level and region, with each room facilitated by a representative from your Grade Level Leadership Committee. Learn more and register.
Assistant Principal Workshop
March 1-2, 2023
Show Up. Lead Up. Level Up.
Led by author Jethro Jones, assistant principals will learn how to show up, lead up, and level up in order to move up. By "move up," we don't just mean to get the principal job, but to move up in responsibility, influence, and capability right where you are.
- Show up: You’ll learn how to show up as yourself: flaws, strengths, and all in a way that is empowering to you.
- Lead up: You’ll discover how to lead those above and below you in a way that recognizes your strengths and their strengths.
- Level up: You’ll develop strategies to help yourself learn and understand how you’re the only one in control of your growth. You can’t outsource this to anyone else, and we'll discuss ways to maximize activities that level you up without adding even more work to your already full plate.
This workshop takes place March 1-2 at ESD 113 in Tumwater. Cost is $350 per registrant. Learn more at www.awsp.org/AP.
Launching School Leadership, Stage 3
March 6-7, 2023
Are you new or newly assigned this year? It’s not too late to join us for the third and final stage of the Launching School Leadership series, taking place March 6-7 at the Four Points by Sheraton, Seattle Airport South. Topics that will be addressed in this stage include:
- Support in the final home stretch of evaluations for you and your staff
- Using data as a planning and response tool
- Having time to tackle your own problem of practice with colleagues
- Planning a strong finish and memorable re-launch
