STAFF SPOTLIGHT

Meet Chase Buffington
Cispus Learning Center Director
Chase Buffington is known for accepting big challenges and helping others overcome theirs. Chase first joined AWSP's Cispus Learning Center in 2009, serving for two years as its Challenge Course Manager. In 2014, he accepted the position of General Manager, a role in which he helped to staff programs with the right people so all can share in the great outdoors. He is now the Cispus Learning Center Director, and has been working diligently this past year to spread the word about our Cispus Forever campaign and the importance of Outdoor School for All.
Chase has worked in the outdoor profession for over 15 years in various roles throughout his career. His educational focus has been in outdoor recreation with a passion for challenge course facilitation, construction, and training implementations. Chase is an alumnus of Eastern Washington University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Outdoor Recreation.
Chase is married to his lovely wife Camille, who keeps him functioning on a daily basis. He also has two miniature versions of himself at home: his sons Owen (4) and Weston (5). As a family, they love to go sledding, make campfires, roast s’mores, fish, hunt, hike, learn about nature, and enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer!
